Job Requirements

  • minimum age 18 years
  • ability to work in varied temperature conditions
  • physical ability to perform repetitive motions and coordinate hand, eye, and foot movements
  • ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the workday
  • capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds
  • willingness to follow company policies and procedures
  • strong customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in bakery management or production
  • knowledge of bakery products and production processes
  • ability to lead and train staff effectively
  • experience with merchandising strategies
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to manage budgets and inventory

Job Duties

  • assist in planning, organization, and direction of bakery department activities
  • cost out all materials to determine proper retail pricing
  • create master production sheets
  • implement company training, evaluation, and counseling procedures for department personnel
  • teach bakery production fundamentals including mixing, scaling, proofing, baking, frying, and finishing
  • plan aggressive merchandising programs to increase sales
  • assist in labor and inventory control within budgets
  • maintain department security and compliance with policies
  • monitor competitive activity in bakery marketing areas
  • conduct receiving, storing, pricing, and merchandising of bakery products
  • coordinate and communicate with other departments
  • maintain adequate department records
