Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in bakery or food service preferred
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and kneel occasionally
- Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must comply with all food safety regulations and company policies
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Availability to work in a temperature-controlled store environment with occasional outdoor exposure

- Ability to operate mixers, ovens, bread slicer and other bakery equipment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Ability to read, retain, and comprehend guidelines, policies, and procedures

- Self-motivated with a drive to increase product knowledge and share with customers

Job Duties
- Provide high-quality customer service in accordance with company standards and policies
- Oversee operations and staffing for the bakery department
- Plan daily and weekly production and staff assignments and scheduling
- Supervise bakery staff and provide staff training
- Monitor quality of goods and services
- Maintain cleanliness of bakery area including cleaning of display cases and work surfaces
- Maintain area compliance with federal, state, local food safety and employee safety regulations and company policy
- Inform customers about bakery products and services and promote sales
- Take bakery orders over telephone or in person
- Maintain accurate inventory and record keeping
- Measure ingredients and prepare batters, dough, fillings, and icings
- Operate mixing machines and ovens according to specifications
- Prepare dough and related products for baking
- Place dough in pans or molds and bake
- Move baked goods from prep area to display area
- Read recipes and instructions
- Obtain and order necessary stock and supplies
- Organize and maintain cleanliness of work area
- Suggest changes to inventory and pricing
- Adhere to uniform and grooming policy
