Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in bakery operations or related food service
  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job including lifting and standing for long periods
  • Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Compliance with all food safety regulations
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently

  • Ability to operate mixers, ovens, bread slicer and other bakery equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to read, retain and comprehend guidelines, policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Provide high-quality customer service in accordance with company standards
  • Oversee operations and staffing for the bakery department
  • Plan daily and weekly production and staff assignments and scheduling
  • Supervise bakery staff and provide staff training
  • Monitor quality of goods and services
  • Maintain cleanliness of bakery display cases and work surfaces
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety and employee safety regulations
  • Inform customers about bakery products and services and promote sales
  • Take bakery orders over telephone or in person
  • Operate electronic cash register and manage customer payments
  • Maintain accurate inventory and record keeping
  • Prepare bakery products by measuring ingredients and operating equipment
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Order ingredients and supplies as needed
  • Suggest inventory and pricing changes
  • Adhere to company uniform and grooming policies
