Job Requirements
- Management experience in a bakery, restaurant, or retail setting
- passion for producing and selling quality baked goods
- moderate computer skills, including email, Excel, Word, Outlook, and online ordering systems
- great multitasking, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers
- attention to detail, ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time
- leadership, sales, and merchandising skills
- must be at least 18 years of age
- high school diploma/GED
- ServSafe/Food Safety Certification or willingness to obtain one
- culinary education (classes, certification, or degree) is a plus
- prolonged periods of standing, walking, twisting, lifting, bending, and reaching
- occasional instances of pushing, pulling, and squatting
- must be able to frequently lift 10-30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to withstanding working in both hot and cold environments, e.g. the Bakery Department and walk-in freezer

Job Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service in all areas and uphold the same standards for all Bakery Department staff
- work with the Assistant Bakery Manager in effectively training and educating new Bakery employees to ensure new hires are successful in their position and as a team member
- maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked department
- ensure proper rotation of all department products
- ensure Bakery product quality by following WCM's recipes
- work with the Assistant Bakery Manager in controlling production numbers and costs, including ordering product, tracking shrink, managing inventory, and optimizing products
- responsible for leading the department's Quarterly Inventory
- customer service management
- includes properly handling customer issues and using problem-solving skills to ensure all WCM customers have an excellent experience
- strategically merchandise and track sales to meet customer demand and increase profits
- participate in or lead special events and holidays
- create schedules for all Bakery employees, not exceeding the maximum sales per labor hours
- ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards mandated by government regulations
- maintain and ensure cleanliness of all Bakery equipment, placing service calls as needed
- monitor staff progress, providing regular feedback regarding their performance and any areas of improvement
- coach employees to meet expectations
- when coaching fails, address and document disciplinary action, having consulted store manager and/or Human Resources before meeting with employee
- interview Bakery candidates and work with the Store Manager to make hiring decisions
- maintain timely email, phone, and in-person communication with vendors, customers, and co-workers
- participate in meetings with vendors and department managers, including but not limited to: weekly store management meetings, marketing meetings, and quarterly financial reviews
- review weekly invoices
- attend trade shows and trainings as directed by upper management
- communicate regularly with the Briarfield Bakery Manager to supply product to the Briarfield store as ordered
- effectively communicate details of new commissary product as it becomes available
