Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years retail grocery experience
- minimum age of 18 years
- ability to work flexibility including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift
- capability to lift and transfer weights up to 40 lbs without mechanical assistance
- valid Food Handlers permit
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- effective communication skills
- ability to operate bakery equipment including knives and scales
- dependable and reliable work ethic
- experience in inventory and budget management
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
- be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- possess outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers
- have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping in the department including cleaning and sanitizing work area
- be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
- have knowledge of scales and weight measures to weigh and label products accurately
- be able to stand continuously for up to 3 hours, and for a total of 8 hours per shift
- be able to transfer trays vertically up to 5 lbs from 7 to 64 inches and transfer items up to 40 lbs horizontally and vertically for distances up to 36 feet without mechanical assistance
- adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
- possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
Job Duties
- Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
- supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
- evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
- develop improved practices and procedures
- ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
- responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
- execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
- plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
- engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
- make recommendations on merit increases via bi-annual performance review process
- regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings
- recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
- confidently exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns
- take and document corrective actions when needed, including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination
- ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels
- communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
- lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience
- serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty as needed
