Job Requirements
- Work ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Availability for occasional overnight production shifts
- Must have valid driver’s license
- 8-10 years management experience in bakery or food manufacturing
- 2+ years culinary experience in baking
- Compliance knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and EPA standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to implement Lean and Six Sigma practices
Job Qualifications
- 8-10 years experience leading a high-volume bakery or food manufacturing facility
- 2+ years culinary experience in pastry or baking
- Proven track record managing large teams with empathy and accountability
- Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management systems
- Strong understanding of OSHA, FDA, EPA, and health regulations
- Proficiency in inventory management, scheduling, and production systems
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Fluency in an additional language a plus
Job Duties
- Direct all bakery production and logistics to ensure uninterrupted supply of products
- Build and oversee schedules, staffing, and inventory systems balancing craft, quality, and efficiency
- Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and optimize labor
- Maintain bakery equipment, vehicles, and facilities in compliance with laws
- Safeguard bakery vision and integrity with strict quality control
- Implement and maintain Total Quality Management and Six Sigma systems
- Conduct audits, scorecards, and sensory evaluations of quality
- Address product and shelf-life issues collaboratively
- Foster a culture of learning, belonging, and craftsmanship
- Hire, onboard, and cross-train bakery team members
- Provide developmental feedback and conduct regular team engagement meetings
- Recognize and mentor employees for performance and growth
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, EPA, and local regulations
- Promote safe working conditions and sanitation
- Lead crisis and incident management
- Manage bakery P&L and strategic planning
- Monitor capacity and production capabilities
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity
- Support growth initiatives and operational excellence projects
