Job Requirements

  • 3 plus years of leadership experience
  • Certified Bakery Expert or equivalent
  • School of Retail Management (SORM) or equivalent
  • Food Safety certification
  • Forklift/power jack training
  • Ability to stand and lift 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead, and side to side throughout the shift
  • Possess hand/finger dexterity
  • Safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts
  • Work in cooler environment regularly and extreme cold environment occasionally
  • Work in extreme heat from ovens and fryers
  • Work extended hours and varying schedules as dictated by business needs

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Bakery Expert or equivalent
  • Retail Bakery Association-Certified Master Baker preferred
  • School of Retail Management (SORM) or equivalent
  • Food Safety certification
  • Forklift/power jack training
  • Advanced interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills

  • Feedback skills
  • Computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel) and H-E-B systems
  • Ability to adapt to stressful situations with change management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively

Job Duties

  • Use independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions
  • Train School of Retail Management and School of Retail Leadership trainees
  • Assist all Partners in the department with their duties
  • Coach, train, and evaluate Partners as needed
  • Hold Partners accountable for following SOPs
  • Prepare work schedules, order product, control inventory, monitor department budget and payroll
  • Prepare the production plan ensuring correct quantities
  • Maintain correct product levels by conducting weekly production reviews
  • Monitor showcase production and stales tracking
  • Accountable for results of Bakery Scorecard
  • Execute merchandising programs and drive sales by producing appropriate variety and quantity of bakery products daily
  • Responsible for large product assortment and sales volume
  • Increase department contribution by managing shrink and inventory levels
  • Maintain highest levels of customer service through personal example, SOP compliance, and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and H-E-B policy and standards for food safety and sanitation
  • Maintain safety/sanitation of equipment and department
  • Maintain sanitation standards throughout the work area
