Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year experience in coffee preparation in fast-paced environments
  • minimum one year experience in bakery operations or food service
  • valid Washington State Food Workers Card
  • ability to pass background and reference checks
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • capacity to work part-time
  • availability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • adherence to food safety and health regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of experience preparing coffee drinks in a high-volume coffee shop
  • at least one year of bakery industry experience
  • strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • comprehensive knowledge of food and coffee including ingredients, applications, pronunciations and culinary skills
  • knowledge of food safety, HACCP and Department of Health guidelines
  • ability to work effectively within a diverse team environment
  • excellent time management and organizational skills
  • demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work within deadlines
  • self-motivation and initiative
  • problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate genuine enthusiasm and sincerity
  • customize approach to meet guest needs and build rapport through individualized service
  • effectively assess, anticipate and follow-through on guest needs and questions related to products
  • actively work to remain knowledgeable and current in areas of responsibility, including product knowledge
  • move with ease from greeting to providing product information, up-selling, closing the sale, thanking guests, and inviting them back
  • maintain product inventory at a level that promotes effective sales merchandising and maximizes sales potential
  • assist Leadership Team with product and supply ordering
  • actively work to ensure that highest quality products are stocked
  • appropriately remove and replace outdated product from sales areas on a daily basis
  • assist with the development and maintenance of product displays that create an exciting marketplace
  • actively participate in product promotions, focuses and community events
