Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
- Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- Must meet physical requirements to perform medium work involving lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must maintain clarity of vision with or without correction
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
- Must report to work as scheduled and be punctual
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
- Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- Ability to write identifying information and request supplies orally or in writing
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner anywhere in the store
- Make an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out of reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, passing along suggestions
- Review status and appearance of food for freshness
- Review orders for the day
- Take customer orders at the bakery counter
- Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep work area clean
- Ensure an adequate food supply is ready and follow production list
- Anticipate product needs on a daily basis
- Prepare, finish and replenish product as necessary
- Pull product from cooler/freezer for baking
- Check in product, put product away and review invoices
- Run department registers and receive payment where applicable
- Remove trash in a timely manner
- Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
- Adhere to company policies and store guidelines
- Report to work on time as scheduled
- Wash dishes as necessary
- Order product and supplies as necessary
- Price products for customers as necessary
- Deliver orders as needed
- Assist in other store areas as needed
- Perform other job related duties and special projects as required
