Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to assist in product discovery
- Inform customers about bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to minimize shrink
- Recommend bakery items based on customer needs
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, ovens according to guidelines
- Follow cooking and baking instructions and maintain food temperature logs
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label, and inventory bakery ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality to ensure freshness and compliance with sell-by dates
- Use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, computerized scale properly
- Stock and perform inventory management for bakery merchandise
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to management
- Assist customers in locating products in the store
- Stay current with seasonal and promotional ads
- Maintain knowledge of products to answer questions and make suggestions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Maintain proper case and cooler temperatures and logs
- Promote respect and trust among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers and answer product-related questions
- Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and notify management
- Maintain a positive attitude and practice preventive equipment maintenance
- Report customer or employee accidents promptly
- Report safety risks, illegal activities, or fraud
- Perform essential job functions with or without accommodations
