Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
  • Inform customers of bakery specials
  • Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes
  • Recommend bakery items to customers
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to guidelines
  • Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipe
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • Check product quality and review sell-by dates
  • Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, scale, fryer, steamer
  • Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
  • Report ordering and shipping discrepancies to department manager
  • Locate products upon customer request
  • Stay current with store ads
  • Gain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions
  • Maintain inventory and stocking conditions
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
  • Promote trust and respect among associates
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Display a positive attitude
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Notify management of accidents
  • Report safety risks and illegal activity
  • Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
