Job Requirements
- Work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- Push and pull approximately 100 lb of product on racks
- Lift objects up to 50 lbs
- Conduct visual inspections and read production guides
- Handle kitchen utensils and equipment with manual dexterity
- Maintain composure with customers and co-workers
- Reach overhead to place product on racks
- Stand, walk and move rapidly for extended periods
- Bend, stoop, balance, crouch, push, pull, lift
- Perform repetitive movements
- Handle bakery ingredients safely
- Perform basic math calculations
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Respond to audible baking equipment timers
- Work near equipment emitting heat up to 465 degrees
- Wear required personal protective equipment
- Check labels and packaging of products
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Operate kitchen utensils with speed and accuracy
- Demonstrate knowledge of product content and perishability
- Be at least 18 years old
Job Qualifications
- Prior bakery or food preparation experience preferred
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proof boxes
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to follow recipes and production guides accurately
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Food Handlers Certification as per state laws
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Job Duties
- Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers
- Maintain friendly and enthusiastic customer service atmosphere
- Produce bakery products for retail stores
- Operate and clean equipment and work area
- Package all fresh products following packaging and handling procedures
- Ensure quality of goods by following code
- Mix icing or other toppings by scaling and measuring ingredients
- Dump icing or other toppings into large storage containers
- Set up cakes by layering and icing
- Ice cakes with decorations and borders
- Package cakes in boxes
- Label bakery items using DiGi machine and place labels
- Display products appealingly using FIFO rotation
- Take orders by phone and in person
- Personalize cakes with customer-specified messages
- Face merchandise
- Engage in suggestive selling and sales techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and appeal of product displays
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding special orders and products
- Follow code dating and labeling regulations
- Maintain inventory and production sheets
- Produce breads and rolls by mixing and baking
- Clean work area using pressure hose and brushes
- Produce croissants by folding, proofing and baking
- Open and close bakery according to procedures
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
