Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • be dependable and willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • possess good communication skills
  • ability to take direction and work in a team
  • able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitizing duties
  • able to operate bakery equipment
  • able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously per shift
  • able to transfer trays and items up to specified weights and heights
  • adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • maintain a Food Handler's permit

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • good communication skills and ability to participate in a team environment
  • ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • ability to stand for extended periods and transfer items as required
  • food handler's permit or ability to obtain one

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of bakery products
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping in the department
