Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • be dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude
  • possess good communication skills
  • ability to take direction and work in a team environment
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
  • operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • transfer trays up to 5 lbs vertically from 7 to 64 inches for up to 10 hours
  • transfer items up to 40 lbs vertically or horizontally for distances up to 36 feet without mechanical assistance
  • adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
  • achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain cleanliness and safety in the bakery area including cleaning shelves, floors, and equipment
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while managing product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • receive, inspect, and log shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the bakery department
