Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
- Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift specified weights
- Food Handlers permit
- Commitment to safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Have outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
- Possess good communication skills and ability to follow direction in a team environment
- Be able to answer phones and take special orders
- Be able to perform general housekeeping and sanitation of work area
- Be able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Have knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
- Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously during an 8-hour shift
- Be able to transfer trays up to 5 lbs vertically and items up to 40 lbs vertically/horizontally for up to 10 hours
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- Provide high-level customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
- Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while checking product rotation and discarding outdated items
- Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
- Answer phones and take special orders
- Perform general housekeeping tasks and sanitize work areas
