Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery items per customer request using proper equipment
  • Offer product samples to customers to help discover new items
  • Inform customers of bakery specials
  • Provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
  • Recommend bakery items to customers
  • Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and baking instructions
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Package, label, and inventory merchandise
  • Check product quality and sell-by dates
  • Use kitchen equipment such as stove, fryer, steamer, and scales
  • Stock and inventory department merchandise
  • Report ordering and shipping discrepancies
  • Know store layout to assist customers
  • Stay current with seasonal and special ads
  • Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries
  • Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers
  • Promote trust and respect among associates
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations
  • Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Display a positive attitude
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Report customer or employee accidents
  • Report safety risks or illegal activities
