Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer request using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to help discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and baking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label, and inventory merchandise
- Check product quality and sell-by dates
- Use kitchen equipment such as stove, fryer, steamer, and scales
- Stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies
- Know store layout to assist customers
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Display a positive attitude
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Report customer or employee accidents
- Report safety risks or illegal activities
