Job Requirements
- Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including night, weekends and holidays
- capable of pushing and pulling approximately 100 lb of product on racks
- able to lift objects up to 50 lbs chest high
- perform visual inspections and follow production procedures accurately
- manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination in operating kitchen equipment
- maintain composure dealing with customers and co-workers
- reach overhead to place product on racks
- stand, walk and move rapidly for extended periods
- bend, stoop, balance, crouch, push, pull, lift, grasp and perform repetitive movements frequently
- handle bakery ingredients safely
- perform basic math and measure weights accurately
- maintain mental alertness with potential baking hazards
- respond to audible timers on baking equipment
- work around high-heat equipment and products
- follow safety and sanitation procedures and department policies
- use cleaning chemicals properly
- perform duties efficiently and accurately managing time to meet deadlines
- wear required personal protective equipment
- check labels and packaging
- communicate effectively with customers, both verbally and in writing

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- experience in bakery production or retail bakery environment advantageous
- knowledge of bakery equipment operation and safety procedures
- ability to read and follow recipes and production guides
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- strong customer service orientation
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- good communication skills both verbal and written
- attention to detail and quality control
- ability to safely handle food and cleaning chemicals
- familiarity with safety, sanitation, and government regulations related to food handling
- food handler certification per state laws preferred
- ability to operate bakery-specific machinery such as mixers, ovens, and decorating equipment
- capability to manage time efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers
- maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service
- produce bakery products for retail stores
- operate and clean equipment and work area
- maintain clean, safe and sanitary bakery area and equipment
- package all fresh products following all packaging and handling procedures
- ensure quality of goods by following code
- mix icing or other toppings by scaling and measuring ingredients
- dump icing or other toppings into large storage containers
- set-up and ice cakes, placing specific decorations
- package cakes by placing in box
- label bakery items by inputting data into DiGi machine
- display products on shelves appealingly and use FIFO for rotation
- take orders by phone and in person and fulfill special bakery requests
- personalize cakes by writing desired words
- face merchandise
- engage in suggestive selling and sales techniques
- assist customers with inquiries including special orders
- ensure quality and quantity of goods following code dating and inventory procedures
- produce breads and rolls by mixing recipes and operating machines
- clean work area thoroughly
- produce croissants by hand folding, proofing and baking
- open and close bakery according to company procedures
- perform other duties as assigned
