Job Requirements

  • Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including night, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to push and pull approximately 100 lb of product on racks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to conduct visual inspections and follow production guides and recipes
  • Ability to catch breads and operate kitchen equipment with manual dexterity
  • Maintain composure when dealing with customers and coworkers
  • Ability to reach overhead to place products
  • Stand, walk and move rapidly for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, stoop, balance, crouch, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, and perform repetitive movements
  • Handle bakery ingredients safely
  • Perform basic math
  • Demonstrate mental alertness around potential hazards
  • Respond to audible timers on equipment
  • Work around heat emitting products of approximately 465 degrees
  • Follow safety and sanitation procedures and department policies
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely
  • Perform duties with efficiency and accuracy while managing time
  • Wear required personal protective equipment
  • Check labels and packaging accurately
  • Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers
  • Read and follow instructions

  • Operate kitchen utensils and equipment with speed and accuracy
  • Demonstrate knowledge of product content, perishability, and regulations
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Food Handlers Certification as per state laws

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bakery experience preferred
  • Knowledge of baking ingredients and processes
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain quality
  • Basic math skills for measuring and computations
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Teamwork and collaboration orientation
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently

Job Duties

  • Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers
  • Maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service with emphasis on customer care
  • Produce bakery products for retail stores
  • Operate and clean bakery equipment and work area
  • Package fresh products following packaging and handling procedures
  • Ensure quality of goods by following code dating
  • Mix icing and other toppings by scaling and measuring ingredients
  • Set up, ice, decorate, and package cakes
  • Label bakery items using DiGi machine
  • Display products on shelves using FIFO rotation
  • Take orders from customers in person and by phone
  • Personalize cakes with customer-requested words
  • Face merchandise to maintain an appealing display
  • Engage in suggestive selling and use sales techniques
  • Assist customers with inquiries about pricing, ingredients, and availability
  • Ensure quality and compliance with labeling and packaging regulations
  • Keep inventory updated and communicate with management
  • Produce breads and rolls by mixing recipes and operating machines
  • Clean work area and equipment meticulously
  • Produce croissants by folding, proofing, and baking
  • Open and close bakery according to procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or needed
