Job Requirements

  • Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including night, weekends and holidays
  • pushing and pulling approximately 100 lb of product on rack
  • lift objects up to 50 lbs
  • conduct visual inspections and follow production guides and recipes
  • catch breads, operate kitchen utensils and equipment
  • maintain composure with customers and coworkers
  • reach overhead and stand, walk for extended periods
  • bend, stoop, balance, crouch, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel and perform repetitive movements
  • handle bakery ingredients safely
  • perform basic math calculations
  • work with mental alertness around baking hazards
  • respond to audible timers
  • operate near heat sources at high temperatures
  • follow safety and sanitation procedures
  • wear personal protective equipment
  • check labels and packaging
  • communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • work collaboratively in a customer service environment
  • operate kitchen utensils with speed and accuracy
  • demonstrate knowledge of product perishability and regulations
  • must be 18 years or older
  • hold food handlers certification per state laws

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in bakery or food production preferred
  • ability to operate bakery equipment and follow recipes
  • customer service skills
  • attention to detail and food safety knowledge
  • ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
  • ability to perform basic math

  • food handlers certification per state laws

Job Duties

  • Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers
  • maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service
  • produce bakery products for retail stores
  • operate and clean equipment and work area
  • package all fresh products following packaging procedures
  • ensure quality of goods by following code
  • mix icing or toppings by scaling and measuring ingredients
  • dump icing or toppings into storage containers
  • set up and ice cakes, placing decorations
  • package cakes and label bakery items
  • display products on shelves using FIFO rotation
  • take orders by phone and in person, including special orders
  • personalize cakes with customer messages
  • face merchandise
  • engage in suggestive selling and sales techniques
  • display goods following packaging and handling procedures
  • assist customers with inquiries about special orders, pricing and availability
  • ensure quality of goods through code dating and labeling
  • maintain stock levels and fill out inventory and production sheets
  • produce breads and rolls by mixing recipes, setting up machines, and operating ovens
  • clean work area and equipment
  • produce croissants by folding, proofing and baking
  • open and close bakery according to procedures
  • perform other assigned duties
