Job Requirements
- Be dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedules including night, weekends, and holidays
- Be able to stand for extended periods up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
- Be able to transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7 to 64 inches for up to 10 hours
- Transfer items up to 40 lbs vertically and horizontally for distances up to 36 feet without mechanical assistance
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks rigorously
- Be able to answer phones and take special orders
- Willingness to participate in team resource groups and company events
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Demonstrate good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- Ability to take direction and multi-task
- Know how to operate bakery tools like knives, scales, wrappers, garbage disposals, and pallet jacks
- Possess a Food Handlers permit or willingness to obtain one
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including shelves, floors, and workstations
- Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while rotating bakery products and discarding outdated items
- Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
- Operate bakery tools and equipment safely
- Participate in general housekeeping duties in the bakery department
