Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years of bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
  • be dependable and reliable
  • be available for flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • have outgoing and friendly behavior
  • possess good communication skills
  • be able to work in a team environment
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping
  • able to operate bakery equipment and use scales
  • able to stand for up to 8 hours with physical lifting requirements
  • adhere to all safety and health regulations
  • maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • capable of answering phones and taking special orders
  • ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and transferring trays and items safely
  • adherence to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
  • maintaining a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide high level of customer service and ensure proper preparation, packaging, and presentation of bakery items
  • maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in bakery area and equipment
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining rotation and discarding outdated bakery products
  • receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping duties in the bakery department
