Job Requirements
- Less than high school education
- Six months or less of related work experience
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
- Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions
- Ability to write identifying information and request supplies
- Ability to provide friendly and patient customer service
- Ability to work cooperatively with a team
- Physical ability to perform medium work, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Visual acuity including color vision and depth perception
- Ability to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

- Basic physical ability to perform medium work
- Familiarity with sanitation and food safety procedures.
Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store
- Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading or unloading heavy items, passing along customer requests, and performing other tasks to enhance shopping experience
- Reviews the status and appearance of food for freshness
- Reviews orders for the day
- Takes customer orders at the bakery counter
- Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures the work area is always clean and neat
- Ensures adequate food supply is ready and follows production lists
- Anticipates product needs on a daily basis
- Prepares, finishes, and replenishes products as necessary
- Pulls product from cooler/freezer for baking
- Checks in and puts away product, reviews invoices
- Runs department registers and handles payments where applicable
- Removes trash timely
- Maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
- Adheres to company policies and reports to work on time.
