Job Requirements
- Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including night, weekends and holidays
- ability to push and pull approximately 100 lb of product at a time on rack
- ability to lift objects of various dimensions chest high up to 50 lbs
- conduct visual inspections, read and follow production guides, recipes and product labels, log production quantities, temperature readings on proper forms
- catch breads, put product on trays for baking, operate kitchen utensils and equipment with manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- maintain composure in dealing with customers and co-workers
- reach overhead to place product on racks
- stand, walk and move rapidly for extended periods
- bend, stoop, balance, crouch, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, perform repetitive movement, and reach frequently
- handle bakery ingredients
- perform basic math and compute weights and measures
- perform duties with mental alertness regarding potential hazards
- respond to audible timers on baking equipment
- work around equipment and product emitting approximately 465 degrees heat
- follow safety and sanitation procedures and department policies
- use cleaning chemicals and handle related food products
- perform primary duties with efficiency and accuracy
- effectively manage time to meet deadlines
- prioritize and perform multi-tasking
- wear hats, hairnets, gloves, and other personal protective equipment
- check labels and packaging of all manufactured products

- operate kitchen utensils and equipment with speed and accuracy
- demonstrate knowledge of product content, perishability, safety and sanitation procedures

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous bakery experience preferred but not required
- ability to operate bakery equipment safely
- good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- basic math skills for measuring and mixing ingredients

- ability to follow detailed recipes and production guides

Job Duties
- Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers
- produce bakery products for retail stores
- operate and clean equipment and work area
- maintain clean, safe and sanitary bakery area and equipment
- package all fresh products following all packaging and handling procedures
- ensure quality of goods by following code
- mix icing or other toppings by scaling and measuring ingredients, operating a mixer, reading the recipe, occasionally lifting 50 lbs bags of sugar, shortening, and flour
- dump icing or other toppings into large storage containers
- set-up cakes by taking liner off, putting icing between layers of numerous items
- ice cakes by taking icing out of the container, combining the icing onto the cake, lifting buckets, bordering, placing specific decorations for numerous items
- package cakes by placing in box
- label bakery items by inputting data into DiGi machine for scanning, placing a label on container
- display products on shelves by placing them appealingly and using FIFO for rotation
- take orders by phone and in person from customers
- special orders by following orders from customers using air brush machine, tubes, tips
- personalize cakes by writing desired words of the customer
- face merchandise
- maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service
- engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques
- display goods by following packaging and handling procedures
- assist customers with inquiries
- ensure quality of goods by following code dating procedures and legal regulations
- ensure quantity of goods by keeping manager informed, accurately fill out inventory and production sheets
- produce breads and rolls by mixing recipes, setting up racks and pans, operating machines and ovens
- clean work area using various tools
- produce croissants by hand folding, proofing and baking
- open and close bakery according to procedures
- perform other duties as assigned or needed
