Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • have 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • be dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedules including night, weekends, and holidays
  • have outgoing and friendly behavior and positive attitude
  • have good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in team environment
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping duties including clean and sanitize work areas
  • be able to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • be able to stand up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • be able to lift trays up to 5 lbs and items up to 40 lbs and transfer them vertically and horizontally as required
  • adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
  • maintain a valid food handlers permit

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills, removing hazardous debris, and sweeping
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping in the bakery department
