Job Requirements
- Lift, twist, move and carry a maximum of 50 lbs., from the floor to shelving, or overhead racks in the store and cooler/freezer
- Maintain active signage and pricing in all departmental areas
- Care for signs, banners, and debris from daily operations
- Accurately and efficiently handle cash, debit/credit, EBT/WIC, coupons, and vouchers
- Respond to customers, coworkers, and vendor questions and responses promptly and politely
- Proper usage of store phone and intercom systems
Job Qualifications
- Basic mathematics (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in related field or industry
- Prior experience with oven, convection oven, mixer, fryer, bread slicer, stove, wrapper, scales, and cleaning materials
Job Duties
- Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely
- Actively bake, wrap, package, and sell a variety of goods
- To bake bread, rolls, buns, cake, pies, pastries and brownies
- Maintain company standards for perishables and stay up to date on all active safety procedures
- Transportation and stocking of goods within department
- Ensuring health and safety codes, checking for pricing and expiration, and maintaining an organizational standard area
- To check, record, and retain cooler/freezer temperatures and maintenance
- To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, assisting within other departments as needed to service customers
- Stay up to date and in congruence with health and safety standards, as well as holding a working knowledge of cleaning supplies and various chemicals and machines within the department
- The capability to understand merchandising labels, warehouse order codes, numbers, reports, printed paper invoices and order forms
- Ability to comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions and descriptions concerning store policy and procedures, and usage of equipment
