Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • dependable and reliable with capacity to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • outgoing and friendly demeanor with positive attitude
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to take direction and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties
  • operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • ability to stand continuously for up to 8 hours
  • ability to transfer trays up to 5 lbs vertically and items up to 40 lbs within specified heights and distances
  • adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • maintain a current Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide high level of customer service while ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • stock, fill, face, ensure pricing accuracy, and rotate bakery products discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties in the bakery department
