Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs
- Lift objects up to 50 lbs
- Conduct visual inspections and follow production guides
- Maintain composure under pressure
- Reach overhead to place products
- Stand, walk and move rapidly for extended periods
- Bend, stoop, balance, crouch, push, pull frequently
- Handle bakery ingredients safely
- Perform basic math
- Respond to audible timers
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Wear required personal protective equipment
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Work in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrate knowledge of product content and perishability
- Possess Food Handlers Certification per state laws
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior baking or food preparation experience advantageous
- Ability to operate bakery equipment and machinery
- Basic math skills for measuring and scaling ingredients
- Effective communication skills for customer interaction
- Ability to follow recipes and production guides accurately
- Attention to detail in quality control and product presentation
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to handle physical demands of baking duties
Job Duties
- Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers
- Maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service
- Produce bakery products for retail stores
- Operate and clean equipment and work areas
- Package fresh products following packaging and handling procedures
- Ensure quality of goods by following code
- Mix icing or other toppings by scaling and measuring ingredients
- Set-up and ice cakes, including personalizing orders
- Label bakery items and input data into scanning machines
- Display products attractively using FIFO rotation
- Take and fulfill orders including special orders
- Face merchandise
- Engage in suggestive selling and sales techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in bakery area
- Produce breads, rolls and croissants by mixing, folding, proofing and baking
- Open and close bakery according to procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed
