Job Requirements

Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
ability to push and pull approximately 100 lb. racks
ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
ability to conduct visual inspections and follow production guides
manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
ability to maintain composure with customers and coworkers
ability to reach overhead and stand for extended periods
ability to bend, stoop, balance, crouch, push, pull, lift and perform repetitive movements
ability to handle bakery ingredients
ability to perform basic math calculations
mental alertness to hazards related to baking procedures and equipment

ability to work around hot equipment
adherence to safety and sanitation procedures

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
prior experience in baking or food preparation preferred
knowledge of bakery equipment operation
ability to follow recipes and production guides
strong customer service skills
ability to handle physical demands of the job
basic math skills
knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
effective communication skills
ability to work in a team environment
food handlers certification as required by state laws
age 18 or older

Job Duties

Welcome, engage, serve and thank customers
produce bakery products for retail stores
operate and clean equipment and work area
package all fresh products following packaging and handling procedures
ensure quality of goods by following code
mix icing or other toppings by scaling and measuring ingredients
dump icing or other toppings into large storage containers
set-up cakes with liners and icing between layers
ice cakes with decorations
package cakes by placing in boxes
label bakery items using data input and scanning machines
display products on shelves using FIFO rotation
take orders by phone and in person
personalize cakes with customer messages
face merchandise
maintain enthusiastic customer service
engage in suggestive selling
display goods following company guidelines
assist customers with inquiries
ensure quality by following code dating and legal requirements
keep manager informed of stock levels
fill out inventory and production sheets
produce breads and rolls by mixing recipes and operating machines
clean work area
produce croissants by folding, proofing and baking
open and close bakery according to procedures
perform other duties as assigned
