Job Requirements
- Applicants must be aged 16 to 17
- Ability to read and write Spanish or English
- Ability to comprehend and follow simple instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
- Food Handler Card or equivalent certification required
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and write Spanish and English
- Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions
- Ability to read and comprehend product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and short correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Basic PC and Outlook skills (preferred)
- Retail management certificate (preferred)
Job Duties
- Provide friendly and courteous customer service in the bakery department
- Assist customers with bakery purchases and special orders
- Clean shelving and display cases
- Fill and rotate self-serve bakery displays
- Work with bakery staff to determine baking and decorating needs
- Maintain cleanliness of the bakery department including floor cleaning
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards including holding a Food Handler Card
