Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly
- Visual acuity including color vision and depth perception
- Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Must be able to report to work on time
- Willingness to complete pre-employment drug screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months or less of related work experience
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to follow instructions and provide basic guidance
- Basic customer service skills
- Knowledge of bakery equipment and decorating techniques
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with sanitation and safety procedures
Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
- Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, and enhancing the shopping experience
- Answers the telephone promptly and takes product orders
- Takes customer orders at bakery counter
- Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Checks orders for the day and sets up production schedule
- Decorates bakery items in a timely manner
- Keeps current on new designs and trends
- Ensures department standards are met
- Checks cake orders for details and indicates supply needs
- Orders supplies for decorating area
- Delivers and sets up wedding cakes on site
- Communicates with bakery manager on displays and special needs
- Checks product dates and maintains inventory
- Develops bakery orders for bakers
- Tracks daily production and identifies tasks
- Operates as a lead worker with part-time employees
- Participates in employee cross training
- Practices proper sanitation procedures
- Adheres to company policies and store guidelines
- Reports to work on time
- Wraps product as necessary
- Assists in other store areas as needed
- Performs other job related duties and special projects
