Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- high school diploma or equivalent
- six months or less of related work experience
- ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions
- able to see with or without correction including color vision and depth perception
- successful completion of pre-employment drug screen
- availability to work scheduled hours and punctuality
Job Qualifications

- six months or less of similar or related work experience
- good interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- basic knowledge of bakery decorating techniques
- ability to learn and apply new designs and trends
- strong customer service orientation
- basic math skills including arithmetic calculations
- ability to follow instructions and maintain cleanliness standards
- physically able to perform required duties
Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
- smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
- makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name
- assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading or unloading heavy items, performing tasks to enhance shopping experience
- answers telephone promptly and takes product orders
- takes customer orders at bakery counter
- works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction
- checks orders and sets up production schedule
- decorates bakery items in a timely manner
- keeps current on new designs and trends
- ensures department standards are met
- checks cake orders for details and indicates supply needs
- orders supplies and checks off the order
- delivers and sets up wedding cakes on site
- communicates with bakery manager on displays, weekly ads and special needs
- checks product dates and pulls cases for work
- develops bakery orders for bakers
- tracks daily retail production and identifies tasks
- operates as lead worker with part-time or other employees by instructing and reviewing work
- participates in employee cross training
- practices proper sanitation and keeps work area clean
- adheres to company policies and store guidelines
- reports to work on time
