Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Six months to one year related experience or training
- Ability to stand and walk frequently
- Use hands to handle tools and equipment
- Occasional reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close and color vision
Job Qualifications

- Strong artistic skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of bakery sanitation standards
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 100 pounds occasionally
Job Duties
- Prepares cakes, icings, and all necessary items for decorating
- Decorates cakes within specified timeframes for customer orders
- Follows FIFO rotation system while covering, labeling, and dating leftover products
- Answers telephone and takes bakery orders as needed
- Decorates a variety of baked goods including cookies, cakes, and cupcakes for display
- Provides excellent customer service by establishing relationships to encourage repeat business
- Inspects products during baking and preparation to ensure quality and sanitation compliant with FDA and local health codes
- Inspects finished bakery items for quality, weight, and presentation
- Understands proper usage of authorized cleaning chemicals in the Bakery department
