Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- minimum of three years experience in full bakery operations and procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience
- health department training required
- ability to calculate percentages and ratios for dough mixtures and recipes
- ability to hear, speak and understand spoken word for communication
- ability to read, write and understand English
- capability to fill out forms and compose reports
- familiar with bakery tasks and safety protocols
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to work in varying temperature environments including refrigerated and heated areas
- ability to tolerate dust, fumes, and allergens
- must complete baker assessment testing
- compliance with company safety and security policies

Job Duties
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and adhere to company dress code
- assist in receiving and unloading merchandise with accuracy and quality checks
- rotate bakery ingredients and merchandise according to store policy using first in, first out method
- observe shift operating hours as scheduled by bakery team leader
- control excessive use of utilities and maintain sound conservation practices
- perform general housekeeping and comply with health regulations
- check refrigeration equipment for proper performance
- report maintenance or equipment problems to department manager
- use and maintain baking equipment properly
- prepare dough and baking mixtures following company recipes
- pan frozen products and round bread
- mix and ice sweet rolls, breads, and cookies
- operate ovens and mixers, ensuring correct baking temperatures and times
- assist in ordering and inventory control of ingredients and supplies
- handle damaged and spoiled products according to policy
- accurately record invoices, markups, markdowns, and spoilage
- monitor product sales to optimize production and minimize waste
- comply with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
- assist in training associates and coworkers
- maintain good communication within the department and organization
- greet customers when applicable
- observe security standards and report abnormalities
- use required safety equipment and follow safety protocols
- complete mandatory compliance training such as Axonify
- perform other work-related duties as assigned
