Job Requirements
- Pass baker assessment test after initial interview
 - wear approved hat or hair net and uniform
 - comply with dress regulations
 - ability to lift up to 50 pounds
 - ability to hear, speak, and understand spoken word
 - ability to read instructions and company policies
 - physical ability to climb ladders and perform cleaning duties
 - tolerate exposure to dust, chemical fumes, heat, and refrigerated environments
 - complete required compliance training
 - follow safety and security protocols
 
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent preferred
 - minimum of three years of experience in full bakery operations and procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience
 - health department training required
 - ability to calculate percentages and ratios for recipes
 - effective verbal communication skills
 - ability to read, write, and understand English preferred
 - ability to fill out forms and compose reports
 - thorough knowledge of baking methods, safety, and health considerations
 
Job Duties
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress regulations
 - assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise
 - check and verify receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are delivered
 - check products for quality, count, and condition
 - keep all bakery ingredients or merchandise rotated according to store policy
 - observe shift operating hours as scheduled
 - control excessive use of utilities and water
 - maintain general housekeeping and cleaning programs
 - check refrigeration equipment for proper performance
 - advise department manager of maintenance or equipment problems
 - use and maintain equipment in an orderly manner
 - prepare dough and baking mixtures as per company recipes
 - pan frozen products and round up bread
 - mix and ice sweet rolls, breads, and cookies, add toppings
 - load and unload ovens, know proper baking times and temperatures
 - operate mixer and other bakery equipment
 - assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control
 - handle damaged and spoiled products according to policy
 - record invoice documents accurately
 - record markups, markdowns, and spoilage write-offs
 - monitor product sales to optimize production and minimize waste
 - adhere to all health and safety regulations
 - perform other work-related duties as assigned
 - maintain good communication within the department and organization
 - assist in training associates
 - notify manager of personnel or policy issues
 - greet customers
 - observe security standards and report abnormal behavior
 - complete compliance training and safety equipment use
 - follow safety rules
