Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • three to six months of related experience
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • close and color vision
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery products according to bakery manager's directions, production guide, and established production schedule
  • maintain product rotation to reduce shrink
  • inspect and maintain bakery department and products during baking and preparation, ensuring quality and sanitation by FDA and local health codes
  • assist customers, suggest bakery products, and establish relationships for repeat business
  • control costs by implementing portion control, accurate pricing, and signage
  • follow safety work standards and report any hazards to bakery manager and/or store director
  • follow FIFO rotation system, cover, label, and date products, ensuring adherence to BFLA standards of quality and presentation
  • assist in receiving, breaking down, and storing bakery loads, collaborating effectively with the team
