Job Duties
- create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome important and appreciated that will increase customer confidence and loyalty
- deliver daily conditions that meet the companys expectations for at shelf product availability freshness quality and value
- offer product samples answer product questions and assist customers in finding or suggesting products
- ensure customer requests and special orders are fulfilled
- promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating promoting teamwork and communicating company department and job specific information
- adhere to all local state and federal laws and company guidelines
- maintain an awareness of inventory and stocking conditions and report any discrepancies
- review and inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action with those items
- prepare package label and display products for sale
- utilize production planning tools to accurately produce fresh products and follow discarding or markdown processes to reduce shrink
- ensure product is held at the proper temperature per food safety guidelines and retain temperature logs per policy
- ensure company standards for safety food handling practices sanitation and productivity are maintained
- adhere to regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety USDA COOL and DOA
- execute all product recalls and withdrawals timely ensuring items are secured and removed from customer access
- reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting and reporting unsafe conditions to management
- notify management of customer or employee accidents
- report all safety risk issues and illegal activity including robbery theft or fraud
- ensure adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations
- cultivate a culture of safety within the store
- ensure self and associates work safely and have received safety training
- ensure hazardous assessments are posted and personal protective equipment is used by all associates
- ensure equipment is in good repair report and assist with remediation of safety hazards
