Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
- Ability to operate bakery equipment safely and according to company guidelines
- Able to stand, walk, lift up to 35 lbs, push or carry up to 250 lbs
- Willingness to work varied shifts
- Commitment to following all safety and food handling procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 0 to 3 years of supervisory or related experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters, and pricing guns following company guidelines
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Job Duties
- Creates a welcoming environment for customers that increases confidence and loyalty
- Delivers daily conditions that meet company expectations for product availability, freshness, quality, and value
- Offers product samples, answers product questions, and assists customers in finding or suggesting products
- Ensures customer requests and special orders are fulfilled
- Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating company and department information
- Maintains awareness of inventory and reports discrepancies
- Reviews and inspects products for quality and freshness and takes appropriate action
- Prepares, packages, labels, and displays products for sale
- Utilizes production planning tools to produce fresh products and follows discard or markdown processes to reduce shrink
- Ensures product is held at proper temperature per food safety guidelines and documents temperature logs
- Ensures compliance with company safety standards, food handling practices, and sanitation
- Adheres to food safety regulatory requirements and executes product recalls and withdrawals promptly
- Reports safety risks, unsafe conditions, and illegal activities to management
- Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies
- Cultivates a culture of safety and makes sure all associates have received necessary safety training
- Reports and assists with remediation of safety hazards and equipment repair needs
