Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
  • deliver daily conditions that meet company expectations for product availability, freshness, quality and value
  • offer product samples and answer product questions
  • assist customers in finding or suggesting products
  • fulfill customer requests and special orders
  • promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating and promoting teamwork
  • communicate company, department and job specific information
  • adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • maintain awareness of inventory and report discrepancies
  • review and inspect products for quality and freshness
  • prepare, package, label and display products for sale
  • utilize production planning tools to accurately produce fresh products
  • ensure discarding or markdown processes are followed to reduce shrink
  • ensure products are held at proper temperatures per food safety guidelines
  • retain documentation of temperature logs per policy
  • ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained
  • adhere to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA and DOA
  • execute all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner
  • reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures
  • inspect and identify unsafe conditions and report to management
  • notify management of customer or employee accidents
  • report safety risks, illegal activity including robbery, theft or fraud
  • ensure adherence to wage and hour policies
  • ensure all associates have received necessary safety training
  • ensure hazardous assessments are posted and PPE is utilized
  • ensure equipment is in good repair and report safety hazards
  • operate bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters and pricing guns
