Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in bakery or food service management preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of bakery operations and food safety standards
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 60 pounds occasionally
  • Willingness to obtain Wisconsin Certified Food Manager License if not already certified
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of bakers and pastry specialists
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of technology and computer use
  • Thorough understanding of the food service industry and retail bakery operations
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and personnel
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company policies
  • Willingness to obtain proper training and knowledge for equipment and procedures
  • Must have Wisconsin Certified Food Manager License or be willing to obtain it

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Department Manager in overseeing bakery operations and leading the team of bakers
  • Step in to lead the department in the manager's absence
  • Train new bakery associates focusing on pastry offerings and food service standards
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback
  • Maintain department standards including inventory management, pricing accuracy, cleanliness, quality, quantity, and safety
  • Deliver outstanding food service by helping guests find products, taking special orders, and resolving concerns
  • Support the bakery team by setting a positive example, assisting with daily tasks, and fostering a productive work environment
  • Keep accurate food safety logs and ensure adherence to company policies
  • Collaborate with the Store Director, Bakery Director, and other department managers to exceed guest expectations
  • Manage timekeeping accuracy and communicate with HR regarding scheduling
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the team
  • Ensure regular, timely attendance and proper notice for absences
