Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for 6 to 8 hours per day
- Capacity for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Ability to bend, twist, squat and reach
- Willingness to work in wet and cold environments and exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work in temperature ranges including freezing, refrigerated, and elevated temperatures over 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Availability for flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment such as box cutters, knives, pallet jacks, forklifts, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, balers, and other machinery
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 plus months retail Team Member experience
- 6 plus months supervisory experience
- Extensive knowledge of supported department products
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
- Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance and managing inventory
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
- Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate
- Desire to coach and mentor others for growth
Job Duties
- Follow through on customer questions and requests, resolving concerns as needed
- Work with Team Leader to achieve sales, margin, expense, and labor targets
- Assist Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports, and labor
- Demonstrate advanced product knowledge and maintain awareness of new products
- Work with Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues
- Function as point person and departmental person-in-charge in absence of Team Leader
- Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution
- Foster and encourage a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
- Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members
- Communicate and maintain Team Member safety and security standards
- Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations
- Consistently communicate and model Whole Foods Market vision and goals
