Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • over five years of experience as a baker is preferred
  • previous supervisory experience is a plus
  • must be 18 years of age or older

  • understanding basic baking processes and techniques, including preparing dough, batters, and baked goods
  • knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure food safety
  • familiarity with different types of bakery products, ingredients, and recipes
  • ability to bake various goods, from breads to pastries, following recipes and adjusting as necessary
  • precision in measuring ingredients, following recipes, and ensuring the quality and appearance of baked goods
  • efficiently managing time to complete baking tasks and meet production schedules
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Supervise and manage the bakery team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient production
  • prepare doughs, batters, and fillings according to established recipes and techniques
  • weigh and measure ingredients precisely to ensure consistency in product quality
  • operate and maintain baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, and proofing chambers
  • shape, mold, and decorate dough to create a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts
  • monitor the baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection and meet desired standards
  • coordinate with the bakery lead to determine baking priorities and production schedules
  • assist in inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels of ingredients and supplies
  • receive, validate, and store merchandise and ingredient deliveries
  • follow strict sanitation and food safety guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic baking environment
  • train and mentor new bakery staff, ensuring they understand and follow established procedures
  • handle customer inquiries and special orders, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • conduct regular quality checks and implement improvements as needed
  • perform other duties as assigned
