Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' baking and pastry experience in a professional bake shop or culinary arts school enrollment
- must be able to read and write English
- ability to follow written and verbal directions
- knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling techniques
- ensure availability of food and supplies for meals
- report hazardous conditions and incidents
- review menus prior to dessert preparation
- basic recipe reading skills
- understanding of mixing methods and measurements
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' baking and pastry experience in a professional bake shop or attending or graduate of a culinary arts school
- culinary degree preferred
- ability to read and write English and follow written and verbal directions
- comprehensive knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling techniques
- basic understanding of how to read a recipe
- basic understanding of mixing methods such as creaming, whipping, folding
- basic understanding of measurements including cups, teaspoons, and metric
- inclusive knowledge of common desserts including German Chocolate, Eclairs, Black Forest, Napoleon, Crème Brulee, Flan
Job Duties
- Use portion-control procedures
- sanitize work areas, equipment, floors, dishes and utensils
- check trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy
- ensure proper storage of foods and supplies
- adhere to universal sanitation precautions and infection-control policies and procedures
- prepare desserts and breads for all dining venues
- plate and garnish desserts on plates and to-go containers
- prepare meals and snacks in accordance with written instructions and verbal clarifications
- ensure all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
