Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' baking and pastry experience in a professional bake shop or culinary arts school enrollment
  • must be able to read and write English
  • ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling techniques
  • ensure availability of food and supplies for meals
  • report hazardous conditions and incidents
  • review menus prior to dessert preparation
  • basic recipe reading skills
  • understanding of mixing methods and measurements

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' baking and pastry experience in a professional bake shop or attending or graduate of a culinary arts school
  • culinary degree preferred
  • ability to read and write English and follow written and verbal directions
  • comprehensive knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling techniques
  • basic understanding of how to read a recipe
  • basic understanding of mixing methods such as creaming, whipping, folding
  • basic understanding of measurements including cups, teaspoons, and metric
  • inclusive knowledge of common desserts including German Chocolate, Eclairs, Black Forest, Napoleon, Crème Brulee, Flan

Job Duties

  • Use portion-control procedures
  • sanitize work areas, equipment, floors, dishes and utensils
  • check trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy
  • ensure proper storage of foods and supplies
  • adhere to universal sanitation precautions and infection-control policies and procedures
  • prepare desserts and breads for all dining venues
  • plate and garnish desserts on plates and to-go containers
  • prepare meals and snacks in accordance with written instructions and verbal clarifications
  • ensure all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
