Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • previous experience in pastry bakery or food-service environment
  • food handler certification or similar local food safety qualification
  • ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work under pressure
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare mise en place for the pastry station
  • produce baked goods and desserts such as breads, croissants, Danish, cookies, pastries, tarts, custards, puddings, cakes, icings, and fondants according to recipes and hotel standards
  • decorate and finish plated desserts and dessert buffet presentations ensuring consistency in portion, quality and visual appeal
  • monitor ingredient usage and par stocks, assist in requisitioning supplies and managing inventory
  • ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are upheld including cleaning workstations and maintaining equipment
  • collaborate with kitchen and banquet teams for special events and high-volume services
  • assist in shift hand-over, station cleanup, and closing procedures
  • perform other duties as assigned by Pastry Chef or Kitchen Management
