Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of baking experience
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • open availability including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lift or push 50 pounds
  • ability to stand and walk for an 8-hour shift excluding breaks
  • some locations require stair use
  • ability to read and write English
  • basic computer skills
  • valid DOH Certification and regional food handlers' certifications

Job Duties

  • Lead with curiosity and compassion by showing care for co-workers and building meaningful connections
  • set the tone for each shift with a positive, can-do attitude
  • supervise team members and support them during challenges
  • act as a mentor by providing feedback and coaching for improvement
  • participate in ongoing training and skill refinement
  • facilitate training sessions for Bakers and new hires
  • delegate station assignments as needed
  • prepare baked goods following Levain's recipes and processes
  • ensure proper techniques and consistency in scaling, mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking
  • monitor baking times and temperatures to maintain quality
  • manage daily pars to meet quality standards and demand
  • comply with health and safety procedures
  • oversee and adjust inventory levels based on sales and waste
  • conduct daily inventory checks and stock ingredients using FIFO processes
  • follow procedures for storing and rotating products
  • place orders for baking ingredients
  • collaborate with management to prepare catering and pre-orders on time
