Job Requirements

Minimum 1 year of previous baking or pastry experience
ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
able to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
availability to work part-time schedule Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
able to stand for extended periods
willingness to work in an educational facility environment that may include unpaid breaks during low demand periods

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
minimum of 1 year baking or pastry experience
knowledge of baking techniques and food safety standards
ability to follow recipes and production specifications accurately
basic math skills for production tracking
strong attention to detail
good communication and customer service skills
ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
assist in production planning to meet daily requirements
ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment
assist with the completion of production records including waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages
inform supervisor when supplies are low
ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service
clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
keep display equipment clean and free of debris
interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and customer-service oriented manner
relay relevant concerns from customers directly to supervisors
exhibit ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently
check to ensure that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards
follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed
complete shift work as assigned in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards
perform other duties as assigned
