Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays as scheduled
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to calculate measurements and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to use all kitchen tools and equipment
- Ability to identify all products used in kitchen operation
- Ability to read, comprehend, and execute recipes
- Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems diplomatically
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years experience in bakery or full service restaurant preferred
- Knowledge of food holding temperatures and cleaning chemical use preferred
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to use kitchen tools and equipment
- Ability to read, comprehend, and execute recipes
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with guests and staff effectively
Job Duties
- Measures and mixes ingredients to form dough or batter using electric mixer or by hand
- Shapes dough for cookies, bread, pies, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items
- Adjusts drafts or thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperatures
- Prepares and cooks ingredients for pie fillings, puddings, custards, or other desserts
- Mixes ingredients to make icings and blends colors for icings and decorations
- Decorates and finishes cakes and pastries
- Makes chocolate and sugar decorations for food outlets
- Operates bake shop equipment including ovens, mixers, dividers, rounders, dough sheeters
- Adheres to proper time and temperature controls
- Labels and dates food products before storage
- Conducts proper FIFO procedures for stocking and replenishing
- Cleans workstation and equipment
- Provides superior customer service and addresses guest complaints
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements
- Maintains confidentiality of company matters
