Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience in baking
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain Food Handler's Card
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and push carts weighing up to 200 pounds
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Accepted standards of sanitation knowledge
  • Full knowledge of yeast products and relevant baking methods
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Must be able to obtain Food Handler's Card
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, lift 50 pounds and push carts up to 200 pounds
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 2-4 years baking experience

Job Duties

  • Reports directly to the Pastry Chef or Sous Chef
  • Prepares all volume food items according to standard recipes and specifications to ensure consistency of product
  • Adheres to control procedures for cost and quality
  • Checks and controls the proper storage and rotation of product, maintaining portion control to ensure quality
  • Practices inventory control including preparation and pick up of items from storeroom
  • Stores all food in refrigerated boxes with covers, labels, and dates
  • Cleans walk-ins, reach-in boxes, and ensures equipment in working areas is clean and sanitary
  • Maintains area in a clean condition at all times
  • Works varying schedules reflecting the business needs of the hotel
  • Notifies supervisors promptly of problems or unusual matters
  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and employees
  • Attends hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Maintains cleanliness and condition of equipment and work area
  • Executes emergency procedures
  • Complies with safety regulations and hotel standards
  • Recycles whenever possible
  • Remains current with hotel information and changes
  • Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards
