Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous commercial kitchen baking experience
- Ability to work with kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and microwaves
- Knowledge of proper rotation procedures including FIFO method
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Strong communication, time and resource management skills
- Attention to detail for quality inspections
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Must have or be able to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler card
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
- Ability to push up to 400 lbs on a pushcart with or without assistance
- Ability to work in cold walk-in units
- Ability to bend, reach, walk, and stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of product rotation procedures, including FIFO
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong communication, time and resource management, and planning skills
- Attention to detail when performing quality inspections
- Effective written and verbal communication with guests, team members, and management
- Ability to work well within a team and with diverse individuals
- Must have or be able to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler card
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License
Job Duties
- Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort's ELITE service mission and AAA Four Diamond standards
- Prepare dessert menu items for food and beverage outlets, banquets, and special events
- Make and decorate cakes, puddings, cookies, pies, tarts, and other pastry items
- Read and follow recipes accurately
- Measure and combine ingredients using mixers, blenders, and ovens
- Identify baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, fondant, and chocolate
- Test ingredients and finished products for food safety and quality
- Rotate products properly using FIFO method
- Decorate and display finished products
- Keep records of deliveries, inventory, and production
- Clean and restock workstation, ensuring sanitation
- Display teamwork within the department
- Communicate consistently with managers about department activities
- Follow SOPs, recipe books, and guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation following policies and HACCP guidelines
- Ensure kitchen equipment is in good working order and report issues immediately
