Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • minimum one to two years experience in bakery or full-service restaurant preferred
  • must have ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays as scheduled
  • ability to read and interpret safety, operating, and maintenance documents
  • ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratio, percent, and bar graph interpretation
  • ability to use kitchen tools and equipment
  • ability to identify all products used in kitchen operation
  • ability to read, comprehend, and execute recipes
  • must be able to interact effectively and resolve conflicts diplomatically with guests, staff, and colleagues
  • ability to present information and respond to questions effectively

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of proper food holding temperatures and cleaning chemical use preferred
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

Job Duties

  • Measures and mixes ingredients to form dough or batter using electric mixer or by hand
  • accurately follows and adheres to established recipes
  • shapes dough for various bakery items including cookies, bread, pies, pastries, and cakes
  • bakes products according to recipe specifications
  • adjusts oven temperatures using drafts or thermostatic controls
  • prepares and cooks ingredients for fillings, puddings, and custards
  • makes pies and icings according to recipes
  • blends colors for icings and decorations
  • decorates and finishes cakes and pastries
  • creates chocolate and sugar decorations for food outlets
  • operates all bake shop equipment properly including ovens, mixers, dividers, rounders, and dough sheeters
  • adheres to proper time and temperature controls
  • labels and dates food products before storage
  • applies proper FIFO procedures when stocking coolers, freezers, and dry storage
  • follows production logs and quantities precisely
  • cleans workstation and equipment thoroughly at end of shift
  • serves as an ambassador for all Food and Beverage outlets
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitary conditions of workstation
  • performs assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • reports issues and guest complaints to leader
  • actively demonstrates superior customer service and supports company standards
  • reports compliance and potential issues to management
  • maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
