Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent or one to three months related experience or training
  • minimum of one to two years experience in bakery or full service restaurant preferred
  • ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays as scheduled
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to perform math calculations including rate, ratio, and percent
  • ability to use kitchen tools and equipment
  • ability to identify kitchen products
  • ability to read and execute recipes
  • ability to interact with guests and staff to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically
  • ability to respond effectively to questions from managers, clients, and customers

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one to two years experience in bakery or full service restaurant preferred
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure documents
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and understanding of ratios and percentages
  • capable of using all kitchen tools and equipment
  • skilled in reading, comprehending, and executing recipes
  • ability to interact effectively with guests and resolve conflicts diplomatically
  • able to present information clearly and respond to questions from management and customers

Job Duties

  • Measures and mixes ingredients to form dough or batter using electric mixer or by hand
  • shapes dough for various bakery items and accurately bakes products to recipe specifications
  • adjusts oven temperature controls to regulate baking conditions
  • prepares and cooks ingredients for pie fillings, puddings, custards, and other desserts
  • mixes ingredients to make icings and blends colors for icings and sugar decorations
  • decorates and finishes cakes and pastries to satisfaction
  • operates and maintains all bakery equipment including ovens, mixers, dividers, rounders, and dough sheeters
  • follows proper food storage procedures including labeling, dating, and FIFO inventory management
  • cleans and sanitizes workstation and equipment prior to end of shift
  • supports and promotes superior customer service standards and addresses customer issues
  • reports maintenance issues or guest complaints to management
  • ensures compliance with all regulatory health and safety standards
  • maintains confidentiality of all departmental and company matters
